Somos Votantes and Somos PAC Announce $1 Million Push to Reach Latino Voters in Wisconsin
Building on their work in Wisconsin and the recent Texas investment, Somos Votantes and Somos PAC are meeting Latino voters in their communities ahead of the November 3rd election
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Somos Votantes and Somos PAC announced they are expanding their push to reach Latino voters in Wisconsin, building on the organizations’ recent $6 million investment in Texas.
Somos Votantes announced a $500,000 non-partisan voter education program to listen to Latino voters' top concerns, connecting them to community resources, and providing information on voter registration – building on the organization’s year-round civic engagement work across the country. This program will meet Latino voters where they are in Wisconsin though door-to-door canvassing and site-based outreach.
"Latino voters in Wisconsin are working harder than ever just to keep up, and they deserve to be heard. That's why Somos Votantes is on the ground in this community — listening to what's actually keeping families up at night and making sure every voter has the tools and information they need to make their voice heard this November," said Melissa Morales, founder and president of Somos Votantes.
Separately, Somos PAC will launch a $500,000 program to persuade and mobilize Latino voters in support of Democratic candidates in Wisconsin. The program is anchored by direct, on-the-ground voter contact, backed by digital and direct mail outreach delivering bilingual, contrast-driven messaging to Spanish-speaking and bilingual households across the state.
“Latino voters have the power to decide who becomes Wisconsin’s next governor,” said Melissa Morales, founder and president of Somos PAC. “Somos PAC’s investment will ensure Latino voters learn more about how David Crowley and other Democrats on the ballot will fight to grow our economy by raising incomes and lowering costs. When Latino voters turn out, they decide elections – and these races will not be the exception.”
The expansion builds on Somos Votantes and Somos PAC' history of running some of the largest independent Latino civic and voter engagement programs in the country, and follows the organization's latest state-by-state polling, which found deep economic concern among Latino voters in the state. In relation to the Iran war, 75% of Latino voters in Wisconsin said they are concerned about inflation, 73% about gas prices, and 74% about the cost of the conflict to taxpayers.
